A clear and comprehensive discussion of Recent Development of Intellectual Properties supported by case laws, such as, Zuneca vs Natrapharm. A discussion of the 2020 Revised Rules on Intellectual Properties on trademark amendments and bad and good faith trademark registration.

Lecturer: Negre, Ferdinand M.

Ferdinand Negre is the Dean of the School of Law at Manuel L. Quezon University. He has lectured in different universities, government agencies and international organizations including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He is a member of the Supreme Court SubCommittee on Special Rules in IP Cases and was the Examiner for Mercantile Law in the 2014 Bar Examinations. Ferdie is a Trustee and the President of the Licensing Executives Society of the Philippines. He is also a Founding Trustee and Vice-President of the Intellectual Property Professors and Researchers Organization of the Philippines, Inc. He is a founding partner of Bengzon Negre Untalan Intellectual Property Attorneys. Past professional engagements include work with the then Bureau of Patents, Trademarks & Technology Transfer (now the Intellectual Property Office), first as a Trademark Examiner and then as a Hearing Officer. He also worked as a Hearing Officer at the Bureau of Trade Regulation and Consumer Protection of the Department of Trade and Industry. Ferdie is a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an Auditor at SGV & Co. before taking up law.
